10 A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.

11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.

12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.

13 She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.

14 She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar.

15 She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants.

16 She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.

17 She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.

18 She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night.

19 In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers.

20 She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.

21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet.

22 She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.

23 Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.

24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes.

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.

26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:

29 "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

31 Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

For the next few days I will be working through the chapter of proverbs 31...This is the key passage for every women onboard this earth. In this passage The Lord dictates what he wants every godly women to be like. For The Lord clearly says that a noble woman (wife) is far more precious than rubies. Now the things in this passage contrast clearly to how our world views a "cool" girl, skinny, dressed in branded clothes, caked in makeup, in a different club every night with a different man on her arm. We learn that The Lord does not value these things at all. The Lord aspires for all of his children to be of noble character and stature walking and abiding in him every second of their life. The woman described in this passage is what every young girl should aspire to be. Not only does it please and honor god but this is also what good Christian men look for in a life partner.

(Verse 11)
People have full trust in this stated woman and she lacks nothing... How many of us have complained about our parents and wished that they had more trust in us? If you want more trust from your parents and peers... Strive to be trustworthy, take care in the decisions you make, make sure that they honor god. Do mot sneak out to party's every night, and wish your parents had more trust in you. How can they trust you if you yourself are not trustworthy. Earn their trust and they will trust you. Trust in The Lord and you will lack of nothing in value. Do not covet your friends who have the latest gadgets and materialistic things. The Lord is almighty and sovereign rest assured if you follow his ways and strive to be a women after his heart he will give you what you need. Do not confuse the use of value in this verse for earthly value. Value in this case is not used for materialistic things but for godly things... Godly things. Remember that. This doesn't mean that The Lord will not provide you with the things you need like food and water, trust in him ,he will. However alongside that you will not lack in character for he will continue to  grow you and mould you into his image as he walks alongside you. Seek to be like jesus and have faith, you will become more and more like jesus everyday.

(Verse 12)
She brings her husband good, not harm, all the days of her life... As this blog is for teenage girls I'm going to assume none of us have husbands yet. So I'm going to replace that word with people. She brings the people around her good and not harm. Some of you might wonder what could be meant by harm. Harm. It can come in may forms and disguises. A woman after gods heart does not inflict it on anybody. That means she does not gossip, as that is one of the greatest forms of harm especially amongst teenage girls. If someone irritates us we are not like guys we don't say it to their faces, we tend to bite our young and push it aside. Then when that person is out of hearing range all hell breaks loose as slanderous words and loose profanities are thrown around like bullets in a war zone.

I am personally struggling with this, there is a girl I know (let's call her Rachel, i need to give her a name as she will probably come up in future topics) and personally she is quite a difficult character and sometimes once she leaves i can't help  But complain to my friends about her. She irritates me to the bone and tests my patience every time I am around her. She is often the main topic of conversation between me and my friends when she is not there. After reading this passage I realize that can't go on any longer. No matter how much I dislike her, I must not gossip or slander, for that is probably the reason The Lord put her in my path to test my patience and see if i can show his love to rachel even though she irritates me. No matter how much you dislike a person, do not harm them physically, mentally, through violence or through slander. The Lord loves them just as much as he loves you and me. Who are we to judge the lords creation. Let us show these people love. jesus showed love for his enemies while they murdered him, surely we can show love to the people who irritate or bully us.  We have no excuses. we are children of The Lord we must show his love to the lost world. You carry around the lords name where ever you go. Do not put it to shame.

(Verse 13)
She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. Okay I doubt many of you spin wool and flax for a living so... As with many things in the bible we need to replace the context. We do not change the meaning mind you, but we do need to replace certain things to get application. So what this basically means is that in all that we do, we do it eagerly and we do our best. If I go and tell you guys that we always need to do our best no matter what we do, blah blah blah... I will sound like your parents and a hypocrite because honestly it's a rare occasion whenever I do my best.

Also a lot of you say "I do my best if I like the subject or topic".I am often like that too. The woman in this passage does her best while sitting at the spinning wheel. That is her trade, it is how she provides for her household. Does spinning wool all day sound fun to any of you? Probably not, it was probably quite monotonous for her and I can't be the most interesting thing in the world. Still she does it eagerly and diligently because she knows that she is providing for her family and herself by doing this. She knows that she is making a honest living and her work is pleasing to The Lord. That brings her joy and motivation.

How can we have joy in all we do. School work, home work, chores... How can we take pleasure in things so normal and boring. Often we can't, the activities themselves can not be delighted in, but still we must give it everything we have for that is the lords command and obeying The Lord should give us the greatest joy. Even if the work seems tedious we must do it with responsibility, diligence and the right mind set. I'm trying to do this too, and trust me it is hard, but after you get that piece of work, you have been dreading over with and you know you have done it well and it pleases The Lord. Trust me it feels awesome and even if it dosent know that you pleased  The Lord by doing your bestand it is one of the trails of a young goodly woman. which is what god delights in.
